CONVERSION OF Diesel fired Electrode Drying Oven to LPG System  
 
  A. Reason for Conversion :  
       
      Even though the diesel burner is supposed to work at 85% efficiency without smoke and formation of soot, it was not to be. At times, smoke was observed to escape through the exhaust and there were deposits of soot on the rods. Regular maintenance, that too at close intervals was essential for the burner. The party was losing production hours. They decided to switch over to LPG.  
       
  B. Conversion to LPG :  
       
      We Removed the diesel burner and fitted in its place our automatic, monoblock LPG burner. The same control panel was used with slight modification LPG was sourced from a five cylinder manifold with another manifold kept as reserve.  
         
  C. Results :  
      1 Maintenance was completely eliminated and regular production was achieved.  
      2 Quality of welding rods improved.  
      3 There was no down time after conversion to LPG.  
      4 Cost Savings.
